It isn't difficult to get started in blogging, particularly when there are so many organizations online who offer free blogging services. If you have access to a computer with an internet connection, you should be able to set up a blog without too much trouble.
Firstly, look around for a good blogging service. There are many online, but the bigger organizations (such as Blogger, LiveJournal, TypePad and Wordpress) are generally the easiest to get started with, simply because there are so many tutorials and 'dummies guides' written about their software. All of these services offer free hosted accounts, and some – like Blogger and Wordpress – also have downloadable or hostable blogging software which you can host yourself on your own server. By following the sign-up prompts on these, or any of the other websites, you should be able to quickly and easily organize your first blog. You will be asked questions like what you would like your blog to look like, what your blog's title will be, and whether or not you would like to have certain features on your blog (archives, comments, and so forth). Once finished with the set-up process, you will be ready to begin blogging.
Once you have organized your blog and are happy with the way it looks, you'll have to start thinking of things to write about. Depending on what sort of blog you have started (a personal diary, a topic or theme-based blog, a travelogue, a recipe log, and so forth), you may find that you can jump straight in and begin writing instantly.
